Three people killed and up to 5 injured in serious crash this morning on I-40 near Winslow



Early Wednesday morning, a serious crash occurred on eastbound Interstate-40 near Winslow, as a truck carrying eight individuals, including the driver, lost control and crashed. The accident claimed the lives of three individuals, including a four-month-old infant and a teenage boy. According to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the incident occurred around 7:34 a.m. The truck veered off the road into the median for reasons yet to be determined, prompting the driver to overcorrect. The truck rolled several times. Three passengers were ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining five occupants, including the driver, sustained injuries and were transported to FMC for treatment. Authorities are investigating the possibility of impairment as a contributing factor to this tragic accident.
