FLAGSTAFF, AZ — Motorists are urged to avoid downtown Flagstaff and areas surrounding the Northern Arizona University (NAU) campus as heavy flooding has forced the closure of numerous streets.
Some of the most heavily impacted areas include Beaver Street, Leroux Street, San Francisco Street, Butler Ave, and streets south of Butler Avenue.
Drivers should expect significant traffic disruptions throughout the area and seek alternate routes. DO NOT attempt to drive through flooded roadways or around barricades. Water depth can be deceiving, and even shallow, fast-moving water can sweep a vehicle off the roadway.
⚠️ If you do not need to travel through downtown Flagstaff or the NAU campus area, please avoid these areas entirely until conditions improve.
