At 736 AM MST /836 AM MDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along a
line from 25 miles northwest of Sedona to 13 miles north of
Flagstaff, moving northwest at 50 mph.
HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and small hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include…
Flagstaff, East Flagstaff, Doney Park, Williams, Timberline,
Downtown Flagstaff, Fort Valley, Red Lake, Parks, Fernwood,
Bellemont, Garland Prairie, Sherwood Forest Estates, Wupatki
Trails, Pine Mountain Estates, Government Prairie, Maine, Camp
Navajo and Inner Basin.
This includes the following highways…
Interstate 40 between mile markers 161 and 195. Business Interstate
40 between mile markers 163 and 165. U.S. Highway 89 between mile
markers 420 and 425…and between mile markers 428 and 433. Route 66
between mile markers 192 and 197…and near mile marker 199. Highway
180 between mile markers 217 and 256. State Route 64 between mile
markers 186 and 202.
This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds…
White Horse Lake Campground, Camp Raymond, Dogtown Lake Campground,
Lockett Meadow Campground, Kaibab Lake Campground, Locket Meadow
Campground, Woody Mountain Campground, Ponderosa Trails Park, Thorpe
Park, Wheeler Park, Buffalo Park, McPherson Park and Bushmaster Park.
This includes the following swimming holes…
Sycamore Falls, Lower Sycamore Falls "The Golden Pond" and Paradise
Forks.

windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds.
Wind damage with these storms will occur before any rain or
lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover.

Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespread
significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately
likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of
a building. These storms may cause serious injury and significant
property damage.
