FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Fire crews responded Friday to a small wildfire burning near the base of Mount Elden in the Greenlaw area of Flagstaff.

The Flagstaff Fire Department, along with crews from the United States Forest Service, worked quickly to contain the fire after it was reported earlier in the day. Officials say firefighters were able to stop the forward progress of the blaze at approximately one-quarter of an acre.

According to responders on scene, no structures were threatened, and crews remained in the area working to ensure the fire was fully contained and mopped up.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
