WILDLAND FIRE INCIDENT: INTERSTATE 40 EAST OF FLAGSTAFF

3:36 PM Flagstaff 911 is received multiple calls about a wildland fire that has started along Interstate 40 roughly 20 miles east of Flagstaff. Callers reporting flames and smoke and quickly spreading. Updates will be in real-time below.

UPDATE 3:38 PM Summit FD has said they will not be responding due to the fire being out of their service area and on the Navajo reservation side. Because this is a BIA fire, Flagscanner will likely receive few (if any) further updates for the time being.

UPDATE 4:14 PM Per crews on the scene, 2 acres on fire with moderate rate of spread and medium growth potential. Possible separate fire north of the casino.

UPDATE 4:46 PM: Crews reporting that forward progress of the fire has stopped.
