WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON ABOVE 5000 FEET
Winter Storm Watch issued December 9 at 1:33PM MST until December 12 at 5:00PM MST by NWS Flagstaff AZ
* WHAT…Heavy snow possible above 5000 feet. Total snow between 2
and 8 inches will be possible, with localized amounts between 8
and 12 inches possible on the North Rim and the top of the San
Francisco Peaks. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE…Areas above 5000 feet near Doney Park, Flagstaff,
Grand Canyon, Jacob Lake, North Rim, Prescott, Prescott
Valley, Seligman, Valle, and Williams.
* WHEN…From Sunday night through Monday afternoon.
* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Monday morning commute.
Snow forecast from 11 PM Sunday to 5 PM Monday:
Doney Park 2 to 4 inches Flagstaff 6 to 8 inches
Grand Canyon 3 to 4 inches Jacob Lake 6 to 8 inches
North Rim 8 to 10 inches Prescott 1 to 3 inches
Prescott Valley 0 to 1 inches Seligman 1 to 2 inches
Valle 3 to 5 inches Williams 6 to 8 inches.
