Details

* WHAT…Flooding caused by snowmelt is ongoing.

* WHERE…A portion of north central Arizona, including the
following county, Coconino.

* WHEN…Until 1100 AM MST Thursday.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in creeks and normally dry washes is
occurring. Water flowing over roadways will create slick paved
roads and muddy unpaved roads.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 813 AM MST, local law enforcement reported snowmelt in the
advisory area. Minor flooding is already occurring.
– This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers…
Schultz Creek, Rio de Flag.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Flagstaff, Downtown Flagstaff and Fort Valley.
– This includes the following highways…
Interstate 40 between mile markers 197 and 202.
Route 66 between mile markers 196 and 198…and
near mile marker 202.
Highway 180 between mile markers 217 and 224.

Recommended Actions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Report any flooding to local law enforcement and the NWS Flagstaff
when you can do so safely.
