Update to alleged assault on pedestrian by delivery driver – Driver cleared of any wrongdoing. Pedestrain arrested.

An official with the Flagstaff Police Department has sent Flagscanner an update regarding the incident we posted Saturday morning regarding an alleged assault that took place Friday evening. Shortly before 10:30 pm Friday night, Flagstaff Police were called to the 2800 block of Highland Mesa Trl for an alleged assault that had just occurred. A female called 911 to report she had been struck by a car and allegedly strangled by the driver. She described the suspect as a Pizza Delivery Driver and gave a detailed description of him. Officers were quickly able to locate the suspect and question him. After questioning both the female caller and the delivery driver, Officers determined that the incident appears to have occurred over a driving issue, and the female contacted the pizza delivery driver. The female then grabbed a bat that was taken from the delivery driver’s vehicle.  After the investigation was completed it was found that the female pedestrian (the one who called the police) was the aggressor and she was arrested for the incident.
