FLAGSTAFF, Ariz., July 23, 2023 — The Hassell Fire, located southeast of Flagstaff near Fisher Point (GPS: 35°09’39.7″N 111°34’25.0″W) and first reported yesterday, is 100 percent contained at 18 acres.
Current resources include three engines, one hand crew, one water tender and miscellaneous overhead.
Crews plan to spend Sunday mopping up and patrolling the fire to ensure all lines hold.
Smoke may still remain visible in the area of the fire.
There are no closures associated with the Hassell Fire at this time, but forest visitors are asked to avoid the fire area and remain cognizant of firefighting efforts.
The human-caused Hassell Fire was first reported at 2:56 p.m. Saturday and is under investigation.
Forest visitors are also reminded that Stage 1 fire restrictions remain in effect across the Coconino National Forest.
