11:19 AM Flagstaff Police are responding to the Harbor Freight on Route 66 for reports of a man in the parking lot who allegedly brandished and fired a revolver handgun. This may be related to the earlier shots fired call we posted that occurred this morning near Brannan Cir. The suspect is described as a Native American Male with a Tan jacket, jeans, and a blue checkered shirt. UPDATE: Officers have several individuals detained at nearby Bushmaster Park who may be involved. Mt Elden Middle School has been placed on Lockdown or Shelter in place as a precaution. One witness is now saying the suspect is a Native male, and a large beanie wearing all black (he may have changed clothes.) Officers at the Harbor Freight are out with several witnesses saying the suspect shot at them. No injuries reported yet. UPDATE: The suspect was also possibly shooting the gun as he walked through Siler Homes. DPS Helicopter is being asked to launch to aid in the search. UPDATE: Officers believe the suspect may have indeed changed clothes. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, Black or Khaki pants, black shoes. UPDATE: DPS Ranger Helicopter is now overhead. Police saying the latest description is a Native American Male in his early 20s or 30s. Short hair on top, bald on sides, no facial hair or glasses. Possibly Black knit beanie, but other witnesses said he had no hat on. UPDATE: All area schools are on lockdown. UPDATE 12:28 PM. Flagstaff Police Supervisor has asked all units to switch to their encrypted private radio channel. We cannot monitor this channel, so, unfortunately, we won’t have any more updates until the Police make a press statement. 1:14 PM OFFICIAL UPDATE FROM FPD: “FLAGSTAFF, Az. – May 15th, 2024 at approximately 11:15 am a report of shots fired was received by Flagstaff Police in the area of Bushmaster Park, 3150 N Alta Vista Dr.
Witnesses in the area described the individual shooting the handgun as a slim build Native American male approximately 20-30 years old wearing all black and possibly having a tattoo on his arms. No injuries were reported at Bushmaster Park.
Law enforcement personnel are actively following up on leads and searching for the individual who was reported to have fled in a north to west direction from Bushmaster Park after the shooting. The subject is considered armed at this time. More information will follow as this incident is active and evolving. UPDATE: An arrest has been made in the shots fired investigation at Bushmaster Park. There is no ongoing threat to the public from that incident.
