Shortly after 3 PM this afternoon, Fire crews from around the region responded to a fire near Walnut Canyon. A type 1 helicopter was utilized and at around 5 pm, the forward progress of the fire was stopped and the mop-up stage began. The final acreage count was 6-7 acres. No structures were threatened.
