FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The City of Flagstaff, in collaboration with Terros Health, will host a Community Incident Stress Debriefing on Saturday, Feb. 7, for community members impacted by the recent law enforcement events in Flagstaff.
The free event is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. at the City of Flagstaff Public Works Building, Building 6, Westside Entrance, located at 3200 W. Route 66.
Representatives from Terros Health will be available throughout the event to meet individually with attendees. Sean Connolly, Flagstaff’s police chief, will also be present and available to provide a briefing on the incident for those who wish to receive one.
In addition, Katherine Romeo, a master’s-level trauma therapist-in-training, will lead a community support circle beginning at 1 p.m. at the same location. Complimentary food will be provided.
Becky Daggett said the city recognizes the emotional toll the incident has had on residents, particularly those living in the affected neighborhood.
“Our sincerest empathy goes out to everyone impacted by the active shooter incident Wednesday night, including the neighbors who live in the area,” Daggett said in a statement. “I’ve spoken with several of these families and know that the impact was profound. On behalf of the city council and city staff, I extend our concern for your well-being and encourage you to connect with us and with resources in our community.”
City officials say the debriefing is intended to provide a supportive space for residents to process the incident, ask questions and connect with mental health resources.
