FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Coconino County voters have until Monday, October 5, to register or update their voter registration ahead of the November 3, 2026 General Election.
The deadline applies to new voters as well as registered voters who have moved, changed their name or want to change their political party affiliation. County election information confirms that early voting and the mailing of early ballots will begin Wednesday, October 7.
To register in Coconino County, a person must be a U.S. citizen, be at least 18 years old by Election Day, reside in the county and meet applicable eligibility requirements regarding felony convictions and restoration of civil rights.
Voters with an Arizona driver’s license or state identification card may register online through AZ MVD Now. Those without that identification can register in person or submit a paper registration form.
Coconino County Voter Services offices will remain open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. on the October 5 registration deadline. In-person registration is available at the Flagstaff Mall location between JCPenney and Planet Fitness, the Recorder’s Office at 110 E. Cherry Ave. in downtown Flagstaff and the Voter Services office at the Tuba City Library.
Early Voting Begins October 7
The county says early ballots will begin going out October 7 to voters on the Active Early Voting List and to voters who have requested an early ballot. Early in-person voting also begins that day.
The county’s announcement comes following a U.S. Supreme Court decision leaving in place a lower-court injunction blocking new U.S. Postal Service requirements for election mail. The proposed federal rules would have required states to use specially formatted ballot envelopes and submit voter information to the Postal Service before certain ballot mail could be processed. The Supreme Court denied the federal government’s request to put those requirements into effect while the case proceeds.
As a result, Coconino County says its existing vote-by-mail process will continue for the November election. County officials say roughly 80 percent of local voters typically use early ballots.
Early in-person voting locations include the Flagstaff Mall, the Coconino County Recorder’s Office in downtown Flagstaff, the Tuba City Library, Williams City Hall, Sedona City Hall, Page City Hall, Fredonia Town Hall and the Grand Canyon School District Office.
The Recorder’s Office, Flagstaff Mall and Tuba City locations will also offer Saturday voting hours on October 17 and October 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Other key election dates include October 23 as the final day to request an early ballot by mail, October 30 as the final day to vote early in person and November 3 as Election Day. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
