Flagstaff Community Meeting on Future of Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces October 29

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Flagstaff residents will have an opportunity to help shape the future of the city’s parks, recreation facilities, trails, open spaces, and community events during an upcoming public meeting that was rescheduled due to last week’s weather.

The City of Flagstaff will host its first community meeting for the Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Events (PROSE) Master Plan on Thursday, October 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Flagstaff Aquaplex, located at 1702 N. Fourth Street.

The open-house style meeting will give residents an opportunity to share their ideas, concerns, and priorities for improving recreational opportunities and community amenities throughout Flagstaff.

Unlike a traditional public meeting with a set presentation schedule, attendees are welcome to stop by at any time during the two-hour event to provide feedback, ask questions, and learn more about the planning process.

The PROSE Master Plan is being developed to guide the city’s decisions and investments in parks, recreation programs, open spaces, trails, and public events over the next decade and beyond.

City officials emphasize that community participation is an essential part of the process, helping ensure that future improvements and investments reflect the needs and priorities of Flagstaff residents.

Residents who cannot attend the October 29 meeting can still have their voices heard. The city has established an online participation opportunity at FlagstaffPROSE.com, where community members can complete a survey, submit ideas, and provide feedback on what they would like to see included in the city’s long-term recreation and open-space plans.

The meeting is open to the public, and residents are encouraged to participate in helping shape the future of Flagstaff’s recreational spaces and community amenities.
