SEDONA, Ariz. — Evacuation orders were issued Sunday morning for portions of Sedona and the Cedar Creek area as rising water levels and flash flooding created dangerous conditions.
According to City of Sedona officials, Evacuation Zones 8, 9, and 10 have been placed under “GO” status, meaning residents in those areas must evacuate immediately.
Officials warned that Oak Creek is rising rapidly, creating potentially hazardous conditions near waterways and low-lying areas.
Residents are urged to stay away from creek beds, washes, and other flood-prone areas. Motorists should never attempt to cross flooded roadways or drive through moving water.
Flagscanner will continue monitoring the situation and provide updates as additional information becomes available.
