FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Two significant snowstorms in Coconino County have come to a close, however, another round of snow is forecast by the National Weather Service (NWS) beginning Thursday, January 19 as early as 11 a.m. through Friday evening for locations above 3,500 feet.

Snowfall will average between one and nine inches depending on the region, city, and/or neighborhood. The snowfall forecast is posted on the NWS website at www.weather.gov/fgz. Winds and wind gusts will continue, and temperatures will drop to as low as zero with windchill in some locations.

Roadway Conditions and Closures

Accumulating snow will impact travel at elevations that normally do not see snow. Please stay up to date on driving conditions and highway or road closures on the AZDOT Interactive Map and travel only when necessary.

Snow and ice are still present on county roads causing hazardous driving conditions. Stoneman Lake Road and a section of Lake Mary Road southeast of Flagstaff remain closed.

Snowplows and graders are operating 24/7 throughout the county with concentrated efforts in areas that received the most snow, such as Munds Park, Baderville, and Kachina Village. Snow removal operations are most effective when vehicles are not parked on streets; please pull into driveways whenever possible.

Note: Coconino County and the City of Flagstaff both have winter parking ordinances prohibiting parking on roadways through April 1, 2023
