FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The Coconino County Attorney’s Office is proud to announce the launch of a new online process to help people clear their criminal records by expunging eligible marijuana convictions. Under Arizona Proposition 207, which legalized recreational marijuana use in Arizona, individuals convicted of certain marijuana offenses may have those convictions expunged. The County Attorney’s Office’s new program offers a simple, accessible process for eligible people to ask the County Attorney’s Office to assist in filing an expungement request on their behalf.

“Providing residents with a pathway to expunge eligible marijuana-related convictions is an important step in supporting our community,” said Coconino County Attorney Ammon Barker. “We understand the impact that a criminal record can have on a person’s life, and this program is designed to help individuals previously convicted of marijuana offenses that Arizona voters have since decriminalized to seek a fresh start.”

Applicants can fill out a simple online form on the County Attorney’s website. Attorneys in the office will review these requests to confirm eligibility, then prepare and file the required court paperwork for eligible cases. There are no fees associated with this service, and the application process is entirely handled by the County Attorney’s Office, ensuring a hassle-free experience for applicants.

Key Features of the Marijuana Expungement Program:

  • Easily Accessible Online Form: Individuals can complete and submit an expungement request form directly on the County Attorney’s website.
  • Free of Charge: There are no fees for individuals applying for expungement under this program.
  • Eligibility: Individuals with eligible marijuana convictions under Arizona law may apply for expungement through the program.

“We’re committed to helping individuals rebuild their lives and move forward,” said Barker. “Expunging a conviction can open doors to employment, housing, and other opportunities that may have been previously unavailable due to a criminal record.”

The marijuana expungement program is now live, and residents are encouraged to visit the Coconino County Attorney’s website for more information and to submit their requests.
