1:00 PM: Coconino County Sheriff’s Deputies and State Troopers have launched an active search for a suspect who fled on foot after a traffic stop along I-40 near Cosnino Rd, east of Flagstaff. A DPS helicopter has been deployed to assist in the search efforts. As of now, no description of the suspect has been provided. This is an ongoing situation, and we will continue to update you with new information as it becomes available.
UPDATE 1:58 PM: Suspect description is Hispanic male, red shirt, black sweater, and blue jeans. This started as a traffic stop by CCSO just before 11am. Deputies were about to do a search of the vehicle when the suspect ran from the scene on foot. As of this post, the suspect had still not been found.
