Flagstaff Police Press Release Regarding Today’s Officer Involved Collison



Flagstaff Police Department Press Release:

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.- On June 28, 2024, at approximately 1244 hours a Flagstaff Police Department Officer was responding to back up another Officer who was with a subject that had a felony warrant for having committed a violent offense.  During his response the Officer’s vehicle collided with another vehicle beginning a multi collision event.  Medical personnel responded to the scene to treat all individuals involved and transported those in need of further medical attention to the hospital.  Those that were transported are stable with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Flagstaff Police Department requested the Department of Public Safety (DPS) conduct the investigation of the crash, which is currently ongoing. 

The Officer involved in the crash was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center with minor injuries.

FS ORIGINAL POST: 12:44 PM A Flagstaff Police Officer just announced over the radio that he and another officer were just involved in an injury collision at the intersection at Fourth st and Route 66. Medics are being asked to respond lights and sirens. We have a reporter en route to the scene. Updates to follow.

UPDATE 12:50 PM: Supervisors are asking for an incident command to be established and called out.

UPDATE 1:03 PM: FS Reporter on the scene reporting a grey SUV vs a Flagstaff Police Unit. Both cars has substantial damage. A total of 3 ambulances have been requested. One Officer has a facial injury.
