UPDATE WITH SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Police Situation Involving Shots Fired & Multiple Victims

2:13 pm The Navajo Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest in today’s shooting incident in Cameron, Ariz.
The person of interest is Derick Myron.
Myron is 44-years-old, 5’10”, has a slender build, black hair, and brown eyes. He is possibly driving a black 2017 Ford dually pickup truck, crew cab, with a work rack, The truck has a New Mexico license plate #RFW880.
Myron is considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS. Do not approach him if you come in contact with him.
Anyone with information about the possible location of Derick Myron or the described vehicle, contact the Navajo Police Department or other local law enforcement.
The shelter-in-place in the Cameron area has been currently lifted, however, there will continue to be heavy law enforcement presence in the area.
***The shooting incident was an isolated incident and not an active threat incident.***

8:17 AM Cameron, AZ: Multiple Police agencies including the (Northern Arizona SWAT team out of Flagstaff) are in the area near Cameron along the US89  with a possible armed and dangerous person who fired shots at Officers and wounded 3 others. The call originated near Tuba City at a home along US89, where Officers were fired upon by the suspect. At some point, the suspect was spotted fleeing the scene in a dark-colored Ford Dually. A DPS Helicopter is responding.. The FBI is also being notified. There are 3 confirmed victims of gunshot wounds. It is unknown if any of the victims are first responders. The exact locations are still unclear, and it’s also not clear if the suspect has been apprehended. The suspect is described as having long black hair a black long-sleeve shirt and black pants. If seen, do not approach! Call 911. UPDATE FROM NAVAJO POLICE DEPARTMENT: The Navajo Police Department is asking the Cameron community, near and around the Cameron Chapter House and LDS Church to shelter-in-place, for a police emergency. There is heavy law enforcement presence in the area working to resolve the issue. Community members are urged to report anything suspicious to the NPD Tuba City District at (928) 283-3111/3112.
