BREAKING: Wildfire Southeast of Flagstaff near Marshal Lake #BearFire

The Bear Fire located 6 miles southeast of Flagstaff (GPS: 35°08’19.2″N 111°34’07.2″W) near Marshall Lake, is fully contained at 2.8 acres.

One Hotshot crew and two engines are assigned to the fire. Crews spent Monday afternoon constructing line around the fire and plan to spend Tuesday securing those containment lines and mopping up.

There are no road, trail or area closures at this time. Slight smoke may still remain visible in the fire area. The Bear Fire was first reported via a lookout tower at 11:03 a.m. Monday and the cause is under investigation.


FLAGSTAFF, Ariz., July 10, 2023 — Resources are responding to the Bear Fire, a quarter-acre wildfire located southeast of the City of Flagstaff (GPS: 35°08’19.2″N 111°34’07.2″W) near Marshall Lake.

The fire is producing noticeable smoke.

Resources include roughly 45 personnel: Five engines, a fuels crew, a dozer, a water tender and a helicopter.

The fire is moving at a moderate rate of spread through timber and grass, and there are no values at risk or structures immediately threatened.

The Bear Fire was first reported via a lookout tower at 11:03 a.m. and the cause is under investigation.

There are no road, trail or area closures at this time.
