

12:31 PM Several Agencies, including USFS, Flagstaff FD, and CCSO are responding to a wildfire that has just broken out south of the I-40 near Butler in the area of Rio de Flag. Elden Fire Lookout is also reporting the smoke. Updates will be in real-time below
12:42 PM: Flagstaff FD is on the scene, saying the heel of the fire is near the trail at Lone Tree and Zuni.
12:47 PM: This is off the Flagstaff Urban Trail. The latest report from crews on the ground is that the fire is three-quarters of an acre in size, with a slow rate of spread. No structures are threatened. The fire is burning in timber and grass understory with moderate flame height. This is on private land. A Type 6 engine, a Type 1 engine, a Battalion Chief, and a Fire water tender have been assigned. Being called the Club Fire.
12:52 PM: An additional Type 6 engine has been requested.
1:36 PM: Elden Lookout tower just reported that smoke has diminished considerably. Crews have a line around the fire and are making good progress.
