FLAGSTAFF, Ariz — The City of Flagstaff has rolled out a new interactive map designed to show the location of short-term rentals across the city, along with the corresponding emergency contact information for each property. The tool is intended to make it easier for residents to quickly identify and reach the responsible party for a rental when concerns or emergencies arise.
The map, along with additional information about short-term rental regulations, is available at the City’s website: Flagstaff.az.gov/STR.
City officials say the addition of the map gives community members more transparency and a direct way to address issues such as noise complaints, parking problems, or safety concerns by contacting the listed emergency point of contact.
Short-term rental property owners in Flagstaff must follow several requirements, including:
-
Obtaining an annual short-term rental license
-
Paying transaction privilege tax
-
Paying an annual license fee
-
Notifying neighboring properties before starting operations
Although Flagstaff enforces regulations to the extent allowed under state law, Arizona prohibits cities from controlling how many short-term rentals operate in their communities or where they are located.
