FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Coconino County is launching a new Roadway Safety Action Plan and is asking residents, workers, businesses, and visitors to share their input on roadway safety concerns through a brief online survey.
County officials say the plan is designed to reduce serious crashes and traffic-related fatalities on County-maintained roads by using crash data, proven safety strategies, and direct community feedback.
“Improving roadway safety is a shared priority for County leadership, our residents, and everyone who travels our roads,” said Christopher Tressler, Public Works Director for Coconino County. “The Roadway Safety Action Plan gives us a clearer, data-driven way to identify, evaluate, and prioritize needed improvements—bringing us closer to our goal of eliminating traffic-related fatalities on Coconino County roads.”
As part of the process, community members are encouraged to provide feedback on:
-
Roads or intersections that feel unsafe
-
Locations where near-misses or close calls frequently occur
-
Areas where roadway safety improvements are needed
County officials say public input will play a critical role in shaping future transportation projects and ensuring limited funding is directed to the areas of greatest need.
The online survey is now open and takes only a few minutes to complete.
