Flagstaff Police, CCSO Deputies Search for Woman Armed With Knife Last Night

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Authorities responded to a disturbance Wednesday night involving a woman smashing windows and later brandishing a knife, prompting a large-scale search. At 9:48 p.m., Flagstaff police officers and Coconino County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the area of Smokerise and Broken Arrow following reports of a female suspect vandalizing property. Upon arrival, deputies called for urgent backup after determining the woman was armed with a knife and jumping fences in the neighborhood. Law enforcement established a perimeter and searched for the suspect, described as a Hispanic or Native American female wearing a light gray sweater and dark pants. By 9:55 p.m., the perimeter was secured, and a family member of the suspect informed officers that she had broken a house window, assaulted someone, and made statements indicating self-harm. Despite an extensive search, officers and deputies were unable to locate the suspect.
