UPDATE:
Flagstaff, Ariz. – On October 5, 2023 approximately 5:30 p.m., Flagstaff Police Department with assistance from the US Marshal’s violent offender fugitive task force located Darren Ayzie at a local residence in the 400 block of S. Leroux. Darren was taken into custody and is being held at the Coconino County Jail for second-degree murder and misconduct involving weapons. Flagstaff Police Department would like to thank everyone who reported sightings and called in tips to assist us with this arrest.
On October 1st, 2023, at approximately 3:04 am The Flagstaff Police Department found Jason Maloney deceased in a truck parked at 1900 block of East Sixth Ave. Jason was found to have injuries consistent with homicide. Darren Ayzie has been identified as an investigative lead and Detectives would like to speak with him as soon as possible. He is considered armed and dangerous.
