FPD Responds to viral post about a road rage incident that happened in Flagstaff. disorderly conduct, assault, and aggressive driving incident. p2503245. â. flagstaff, arizona – the flagstaff police department is aware of a news story circulating from numerous media outlets regarding an incident investigated on march 19, 2025. â. on march 19th, 2025 at approximately 12:30 pm, the flagstaff police department responded to a report of a road rage incident that escalated into a violent encounter. the incident began in the area of east butler avenue and south milton road, continuing eastbound along east route 66. the two vehicles involved were a tesla and a chevrolet cavalier. at around the 2000 block of east route 66, the driver of the cavalier, later identified as robert artherton, 33, of flagstaff, drove in front of the tesla, causing both vehicles to stop in the roadway. mr. artherton exited his vehicle and approached the driver’s side of the tesla. a confrontation ensued, with conflicting accounts from those involved as to what transpired. both drivers sustained minor injuries. witnesses also described erratic driving behavior exhibited by both vehicles prior to the altercation. all parties involved allege that the incident was triggered by driving behaviors, honking, and disorderly hand gestures. at the time of the investigation no additional details regarding the motives behind the incident were provided. mr. artherton was arrested via a criminal citation for disorderly conduct, assault, and aggressive driving in lieu of detention due to seeking medical attention for an injury to his hand. for further inquiries, please contact the flagstaff police department at (928) 774-1414. the reports and other included evidence can be requested through the following link:. form center • request a report online. from flagscanner: flagscanner initially posted this incident as it was happening. phoenix news agencies reported on it much later when the driver if the tesla came forward with video to them.

On March 19th, 2025 at approximately 12:30 PM, the Flagstaff Police Department responded to a report of a road rage incident that escalated into a violent encounter. The incident began in the area of East Butler Avenue and South Milton Road, continuing eastbound along East Route 66. The two vehicles involved were a Tesla and a Chevrolet Cavalier.
At around the 2000 block of East Route 66, the driver of the Cavalier, later identified as Robert Artherton, 33, of Flagstaff, drove in front of the Tesla, causing both vehicles to stop in the roadway. Mr. Artherton exited his vehicle and approached the driver’s side of the Tesla. A confrontation ensued, with conflicting accounts from those involved as to what transpired.
