FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The City will begin work on the 2024 Road Repair and Street Safety (RRSS) project on Monday, July 8. The project will address numerous deteriorated roads around the city, with work including milling, paving, and updates to utilities, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and pavement markings. The goal of the RRSS project is to update infrastructure for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and other modes of transportation.
This year’s work will take place on the following roadway corridors:
- University Heights Dr N (Beulah Blvd to Lindsey Loop)
- University Heights Dr S (Beulah Blvd to Jewel Dr)
- Aspen Ave (Humphreys St to Verde St)
- Kutch Dr
- Anderson Rd
- Murray Rd
- Aris St
- Felice Ave
- Blue Willow Rd
- Lucky Lane
- Zuni Dr
The public should expect intermittent traffic impacts, including short delays and minor backups, on the routes listed above. These impacts are expected throughout the project which is scheduled to be completed in October of 2024.
This program is funded by Flagstaff voters’ 2014 approval of Proposition 406 (City of Flagstaff Road Repair and Street Safety Initiative), a $100 million, 20-year dedicated sales tax for road repair and street safety projects. Keeping true to our promise, the city is investing $6.38 million in the current phase of the project.
The City is committed to repairing and improving streets in Flagstaff and keeping residents informed on the status of the project. For additional information regarding this or other projects associated with the RRSS improvements, visit the RRSS Dashboard or contact the City of Flagstaff Public Works Division at 928-213-2100.
