FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — A Coconino County Grand Jury has returned a 60-count indictment against 50-year-old Terrell Storey in connection with the Feb. 4, 2026 incident that claimed the lives of two individuals and impacted numerous others.

According to the Coconino County Attorney’s Office, the indictment includes two counts of first-degree felony murder. The victims have been identified as Hunter Bennett and Robert Skankey.

The charging document also alleges numerous additional victims, including 25 law enforcement officers who responded to the scene, as well as residents of surrounding homes.

“Our hearts remain with the families of Hunter Bennett and Robert Skankey, and with all the families impacted by this incident,” said Ammon Barker. “We are committed to pursuing this case with the diligence and care it requires.”

Earlier this week, prosecutors filed a criminal complaint containing 50 counts. The case was later presented to a Grand Jury, which returned the 60-count indictment. The indictment supersedes the previously filed complaint and formally initiates proceedings in Coconino County Superior Court.

The next step in the legal process is arraignment.

An indictment is a formal charging document reflecting a finding of probable cause by a Grand Jury. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Because this is an active prosecution, the County Attorney’s Office stated it is ethically prohibited from commenting on the evidence or discussing facts beyond those contained in the public charging documents.
