PRESS RELEASE: CCSO Deputy Arrests Two for Trafficking Suspected Fentanyl



On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, a Sheriff’s Deputy working the Blue Ridge Patrol District observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 87 near milepost 333 commit a traffic violation. The vehicle was stopped and upon contacting the two occupants the deputy obtained consent to search the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, the deputy located 10 bags containing blue M30 pills, presumed to be Fentanyl, concealed in the trunk of the vehicle. The deputy also located two baggies with a white powdery substance. The substance is pending crime lab testing and identification.

The two occupants were arrested for the Transportation of Narcotic Drugs for Sale. The seized contraband was later weighed at the Sheriff’s Office and determined to be 10 lbs. of M30 pills and 1.5 lbs. of white powdery substance. 10 lbs. of M30 pills are estimated to be around 45,000 pills.

The occupants, identified as Jesus Mora-Quinonez (26 years old) and Ramces Carrillo-Lopez (21 years old), were booked into the Coconino County Detention Facility in Flagstaff for Possession of Narcotic Drugs for Sale and Transport for Sale of Narcotic Drugs. The case will be forwarded to the Coconino County Attorney’s Office for felony charging review.
