PRESS RELEASE: Weekend Winter Snowstorm Event Activity



Flagstaff, Arizona – During this past weekend’s winter snow event between Friday night January 20, and Monday morning January 23, Flagstaff experienced heavy snow accumulations.  The Flagstaff Police Department responded to approximately 213 calls for service regarding snow-related issues as follows:

Nature of Calls of Service 1/20/23 – 1/23/23
Winter Ordinance Violations – Citations Issued 149
Motor Assists (slide-offs, stuck vehicles)   14
Collisions (Injury, Non-Injury)   31
Winter Ordinance-Related Vehicle Removals   19

The Flagstaff Police Department reminds everyone not to park on City streets during Winter Parking Ordinance restrictions.  You will receive a citation and possibly have your vehicle towed.  Please do not park in “No Parking” zones for snow play, and do not block streets, driveways, trashcans, mailboxes, or fire hydrants when utilizing snow play areas; you will receive tickets and possibly have your vehicle towed.
