UPDATE: The missing boy has been FOUND!
UPDATE 8:00 AM 8/22 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN SEARCH FOR MISSING CHILD NEAR FLAGSTAFF: Meet at the Fort Valley Lodge on the corner of Snowbowl Road and Highway 180. Starts at 9:00 AM
On 08/21/2024 at approximately 6:15 PM CCSO deputies and the Search and Rescue unit responded to a report of a missing 8 year old boy who became separated from his family at the Lava River Caves northwest of Flagstaff. The child was last seen on foot near the cave entrance. Family members called CCSO after being unable to locate the child in the immediate area. Patrol deputies and the Search and Rescue unit had multiple teams searching the area through the rainy night but the child has not been located at this time. Search efforts are continuing throughout the day.
The child is identified as Tzion Maron, a white male just over 4’ tall, approx. 50 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt with blue stripes, navy blue pants and sneakers.
