FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Community members are being invited to participate in a series of upcoming Public Safety Citizen Committee meetings, where input will help shape potential ballot measures for the November 2026 election.

The committee is tasked with advising the Mayor and City Council on funding priorities related to public safety, including Fire, Police, Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting, and Emergency Management services.

A total of four meetings are scheduled, all beginning at 3:30 p.m., with the first 30 to 40 minutes reserved for public comment. Each speaker will be given up to three minutes, regardless of whether they are representing an individual or a group. Residents can attend and provide comment either in person or virtually via Microsoft Teams.

Meeting Schedule:

  • Wednesday, April 22 – City Hall, Staff Conference Room (211 W Aspen Ave) or Microsoft Teams
Note: Public comment will follow a presentation on community survey results during this meeting.
  • Wednesday, April 29 – Core Services (3200 W Route 66, Building 6) or Microsoft Teams
  • Wednesday, May 6 – Core Services (3200 W Route 66, Building 6) or Microsoft Teams
  • Wednesday, May 13 – Core Services (3200 W Route 66, Building 6) or Microsoft Teams

City officials say the committee’s work will play a key role in determining how public safety services are funded moving forward, with potential measures appearing on the November 2026 ballot.

A previously recorded presentation outlining public safety needs, delivered to the City Council on March 24, is available online for those seeking additional background.

More information about the Public Safety Citizen Committee and how to participate can be found on the City’s website.

This is a developing community process, and residents are encouraged to take part and make their voices heard.
