The following text is from the Pinewood fire department, Facebook page: Pinewood Fire, C shift, along with U.S. Forest Service – Coconino National Forest was dispatched to a wildland assignment along Forest Service Road 226 just south of Munds Park. The crews initially located an abandoned campfire with smoke and flames spreading. Crews were able to safely extinguish the fire keeping the size to just under a quarter of an acre.
‼️ We are currently in HIGH FIRE danger – fires can start easily from small fuels (such as grasses and pine needles). Unattended campfires and brush fires are likely to escape. When you’re ready to leave, put the campfire completely out by using a fire extinguisher, water or dirt ‼️
