UPDATE FROM PONDEROSA FD: Earlier today, Ponderosa Fire District responded to reports of a log fire with potential for rapid spread. Upon arrival, Engine 813 encountered a fully involved piece of logging equipment situated in the midst of a half-acre wildland fire. Camp Navajo Fire Department’s Water Tender 91 was instrumental in quickly establishing containment lines, ensuring the forward progress of the fire was halted at under an acre. The fire has since been handed over to Kaibab National Forest, and one of their engines remained on scene for ongoing monitoring and suppression efforts. We commend the quick response and collaborative efforts of all involved agencies in preventing further spread and ensuring public safety.
