WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON ABOVE 6500 FEET



Winter Storm Watch issued February 4 at 1:40PM MST until February 7 at 5:00PM MST by NWS Flagstaff AZ
* WHAT…A strong storm will move from southern California Monday
and into Arizona Tuesday. Areas of rain and snow will quickly
develop early Tuesday afternoon, becoming heavy at times Tuesday
night and then more showery by Wednesday afternoon. Rain may mix
with snow at times below 7000-7500 feet through Tuesday evening.
Becoming all snow above 6000-6500 feet overnight Tuesday night.
Snow levels will fall further on Wednesday. South to southwest
winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph, will
further exacerbate travel issues.

* WHERE…Areas above 6500 feet near Doney Park, Flagstaff,
Forest Lakes, Heber-Overgaard, Kachina Village, Munds Park and
Williams.

* WHEN…From Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Patchy
blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds
could bring down tree branches.

Snow forecast from 2 PM Tuesday to 5 PM Wednesday:

Doney Park 3 to 5 inches Flagstaff 8 to 12 inches
Forest Lakes 10 to 16 inches Heber-Overgaard 1 to 3 inches
Kachina Village 9 to 13 inches Munds Park 9 to 15 inches
Williams 7 to 11 inches.
