Flagscanner has learned that at approximately 9:35 a.m. Sunday morning, officers with the Flagstaff Police Department responded to the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Flagstaff on Bronco Way after a female reportedly called 911, claiming her baby was not breathing. Additional comments by the female made Officers ask EMS to stage in the area before they made entry.
According to initial information, officers arrived within minutes and made entry into the hotel room. Medics responding to the scene were reportedly asked to stage nearby until officers could confirm the scene was secure.
Once inside the room, officers reportedly discovered a deceased infant described as a frozen human baby. The female involved was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Flagstaff Police Department for questioning.
Crime Scene Investigators remain on scene at the hotel as the investigation continues.

“Flagstaff, Arizona – On May 17, 2026, at approximately 9:36 a.m., the Flagstaff Police Department received a report of a possible infant death at the La Quinta Inn located at 1000 N. Bronco Way. Patrol officers responded and located a deceased infant inside one of the hotel rooms.
Two additional children were found in the room; both were unharmed and are safe. Detectives responded to the scene and have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available and as the investigation allows.
