Flagstaff Unified School District Announces Two-Hour Delay Monday Due to Flooding

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) has announced that all district schools will operate on a two-hour delayed start on Monday, November 2, 2026, following significant rainfall and widespread flooding across the Flagstaff area.

District officials announced the decision Sunday evening, citing hazardous road conditions, numerous road closures, and the forecast for additional rainfall overnight.

The announcement comes after a day of significant flooding throughout Flagstaff, particularly in and around the downtown area and Northern Arizona University campus. Numerous streets were closed due to high water, and emergency responders conducted multiple water rescues throughout the city.

With additional rainfall expected overnight, flooding and road conditions remain a concern for students, families, school bus drivers, and district employees traveling Monday morning.

The two-hour delay applies to all schools within the Flagstaff Unified School District.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to allow extra travel time, exercise caution on roadways, and avoid flooded streets and intersections.

For additional information and updates regarding Monday’s delayed start, families can visit the district’s official website at www.fusd1.org.

Flagscanner will continue monitoring weather conditions, flooding, road closures, and any additional announcements affecting schools throughout northern Arizona.
