FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Flagstaff Police Department has released new details following a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday morning on East Terrace Avenue.
According to police, officers were initially dispatched around 4:00 a.m. to a home at 16 E. Terrace for a reported noise complaint. As officers approached the front door, they heard a single gunshot from inside the residence.
Upon making contact, officers encountered Mea Brodie, who confirmed a gunshot had occurred but then attempted to close the door. Officers detained Brodie and entered the home to perform a welfare check.
Inside the living room, officers discovered Doris Brodie, deceased from an apparent single gunshot wound. Police later confirmed that Doris was the mother of Mea Brodie.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and are currently executing a search warrant at the residence.
Flagstaff Police say Mea Brodie has been taken into custody and will be charged with murder.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Flagstaff Police responded to a home on East Terrace Avenue around 5 a.m. Sunday, after a caller reported that “people are being killed.”
When officers arrived on the scene, they heard a single gunshot come from inside the residence. Officers immediately forced entry into the home, where they discovered one person suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Officers called for medical assistance and began life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
At the same time, officers detained a female suspect at the residence. She was transported to the Flagstaff Police Department for questioning.
Detectives are currently on scene, processing evidence and documenting the crime scene.
Flagstaff Police had reportedly been called to the same home earlier for a trespassing incident, though details surrounding that earlier call remain unclear.
