Construction to Begin Along a Section of Meade Lane

The City of Flagstaff will begin a major utility and roadway improvement project along Meade Lane on Monday, August 31.

The Meade Lane Utility Improvements Project will take place between Highway 180/Fort Valley Road and the Rio de Flag bridge. Work will include upgrades to stormwater infrastructure, replacement of aging water and sewer lines, improvements to the FUTS trail, repairs to curbs, gutters and driveway entrances, and a full reconstruction of the roadway.

Construction is expected to continue through summer 2027. The project is partially funded through FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, administered through the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs.

Work may take place Monday through Friday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. At least one lane of traffic will remain open throughout construction, and residents will continue to have access to their properties.

Drivers and nearby residents should expect construction equipment in the roadway, rough road conditions, increased noise, occasional temporary water shutoffs and driveway entrance repairs.

The City is asking residents to avoid parking along Meade Lane while construction is underway to reduce conflicts with construction equipment and help crews complete the project more efficiently.
