FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Coconino County Parks & Recreation is currently accepting applications to fill vacancies on the Parks & Recreation Commission in Districts 2, 4, and 5.
The Parks & Recreation Commission serves as a citizen advisory body, providing valuable input on the development and operation of county parks, trails, recreation programs, and events. Commissioners play a key role in shaping recreation experiences that reflect the diverse needs and interests of Coconino County residents.
Residents interested in serving must live in the district they represent:
- District 2 includes portions of Flagstaff, such as Southside, Sunnyside, and the Greenlaw neighborhoods.
- District 4 covers communities including Moenkopi, Coalmine, Tonalea, Inscription House, Tolani Lake, Leupp, Doney Park, and Winona.
- District 5 includes Page, Fredonia, Tuba City, Coppermine, Kaibeto, Cameron, and Timberline/Fernwood.
The Commission meets monthly and works closely with Parks & Recreation staff to provide recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. Individuals with backgrounds in conservation, event planning, park management, tourism, or public service are especially encouraged to apply.
