PRIORITY ALERT: *CONTAINED* Wildland Fire Near Flagstaff Airport. ARSON suspected #RanchFire

10:57 AM Flagstaff FD and Forest Service are fighting a wildland fire near Flagstaff Airport. The exact location is in the map below. As of 11 AM the fire was at half an acre with a moderate rate of spread. The fire is roughly a quarter mile from homes. No evacuations or standby have been ordered. This is off of FH3 and Frontier Rd. Police have been asked to respond because the fire was intentionally set by someone. The fire is burning in several piles that were made by crews earlier in the year for a future burn project. Up-the-minute-updates will be provided here. This page will auto-refresh with the most current updates. UPDATE 12:11 PM: Forest service has the fire fully contained at 2.6 acres total. Suspect has not been found. UPDATE 11:53 AM: City fire crews have been released from the fire as is is nearly fully contained. Forward spread has been stopped. This fire is being called the Ranch Fire. Black Mountain Crew is now available on the scene.UPDATE 11:08 AM: Forest Service has a dozer on the scene and is making a line around the fire. Crews are making good progress.
