FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The City of Flagstaff will begin its annual Road Repair and Street Safety (RRSS) Project Phase 1 starting the week of April 27, with work expected to continue through the fall of 2026.
According to city officials, the project will focus on improving roadway conditions and overall safety for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists across multiple areas of Flagstaff. Planned work includes crack sealing, chip sealing, asphalt overlay, roadway patching, as well as curb, gutter, sidewalk, and pavement marking improvements.
Residents should expect intermittent traffic impacts throughout the duration of the project, including short delays and minor backups in active work zones.
Areas scheduled for improvements include:
- Woodlands Village Boulevard
- Marketplace Drive
- Switzer Canyon Drive
- Downtown areas, including Columbus Avenue and Aztec Street
- Zuni Drive
- Boulder Point neighborhoods (Cliffview Street, Nada Street, Needles Street)
- Highway 89
- Industrial Drive
- Country Club area (Colter Drive, Burning Tree Loop, Abineau Canyon Drive)
- Astro Lane and Apollo Way
- Canyon View Drive, Circle View Drive, and Clearview Drive
- George Street
- Coconino Estates (Hopi Drive, Piute Road)
- University Heights (Debbie Street, Coy Drive, Dolores Lane)
- Luzern Circle
- Lockett Road
- Dodge Avenue
City officials say the goal of the RRSS project is to maintain and enhance critical infrastructure while ensuring safer travel conditions across the community.
