FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Cedar Avenue will be closed to all traffic between West Street and Fourth Street on Tuesday, November 11, as crews complete roadway striping along the recently paved section of road.

According to city officials, the one-day closure will allow workers to safely and efficiently finish striping before colder temperatures and moisture impact the area. The goal is to ensure the road is clearly marked and safe for the upcoming winter season.

Detours and Access:
Detour routes will be in place along Dortha Avenue and Linda Vista Drive. Access to businesses and Monte Vista Drive will remain available via the north-south streets between Dortha Avenue and Cedar Avenue. Drivers are asked to follow posted detour signage and use caution in the area.

During this work, residents can expect:

  • A full road closure from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (weather permitting)

  • Temporary access restrictions

  • Flaggers directing local traffic

  • Detour routes for vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists

  • Construction equipment and crews in the roadway

  • Minor travel delays

The Cedar Avenue improvements are part of ongoing efforts to reduce post-wildfire flooding impacts to nearby homes and businesses.
